“Empowering Job Seekers Across the Southland ”
In February, EASI NZ hosted a dynamic and interactive free CV workshop that quickly became one of our most inspiring and engaging sessions to date. Attendees from diverse backgrounds and experiences brought their questions, challenges, and stories, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning and support. From navigating unpaid trials to understanding the nuances of New Zealand’s work culture, conversations flowed freely, making the event both educational and empowering.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants sharing how the workshop boosted their confidence—whether they were new to the job market, considering a career switch, or re-entering the workforce after some time away.
Building on this success, we’re thrilled to announce that these free CV and employment readiness workshops will now be available in Queenstown, Alexandra, and Invercargill in the coming months. At EASI NZ, we see this as part of our broader commitment to uplifting our communities—especially those feeling unsure or overwhelmed—by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in today’s job market.
What You Can Expect from Our CV Confidence Workshops:
Crafting a Standout, Values-Based CV: Learn how to create a CV that highlights your strengths and aligns with your values.
Avoid Common Pitfalls: Identify typical CV mistakes and discover effective ways to fix them.
Decoding Kiwi Work Culture: Understand slang, workplace expectations, and respectful communication in New Zealand.

Boost Your Confidence: Walk away feeling empowered and ready to take the next step in your career journey.
Navigating the Kiwi Way for Newcomers and Migrants
For newcomers to Aotearoa—especially migrants and working holiday visa holders—understanding Kiwi workplace norms can sometimes feel overwhelming. What’s smoko? Are jandals appropriate in an office setting? And how do you handle situations that seem unfair? Our workshop offers a safe, supportive space to explore these questions and more.
We discuss what’s legal versus what’s not, such as being asked to work unpaid trial shifts, and provide practical advice on speaking up confidently without fear of repercussions. Our goal is to help you understand your rights and feel equipped to advocate for yourself—without harming relationships or feeling like you’re causing trouble.
Supporting Employers Too
These workshops aren’t just for job seekers—they’re also an opportunity to remind employers and business owners of their role in fostering fair, inclusive, and compliant workplaces. When everyone understands the rules and expectations, workplaces become more positive, productive, and respectful for all.
More Than Just a CV — Building Confidence in the Kiwi Workforce
Our aim extends beyond helping individuals craft a great CV. We want everyone to feel confident navigating the Kiwi workplace, knowing their worth and standing up for their rights. Whether you’re starting your first job or transitioning careers, these workshops are designed to empower you every step of the way.
And the best part? These sessions are free to anyone willing to attend! They reflect EASI NZ’s dedication to caring for our community and creating a more connected, empowered workforce.
Spread the word, bring a friend, and join us in making work better—because everyone deserves the confidence to succeed in Aotearoa.
